Price:Performance Worksheet

  1. Fill out the first 3 areas (node, master, network) according to your cluster, totaling each section when you are done.
  2. Total the cost of your cluster in the 4th Section.
  3. Compute the number keys for your job in the 5th Section.
  4. In the 6th Section, enter a keyrate. A default rate of 446 k/s/Mhz has been used. This is taken from a 200Mhz PII. This is probably the most difficult but most crucial information for the worksheet.
  5. Compute these numbers for estimates on how long your job will take and a price:performance ratio.*

*Please note that this worksheet is only as accurate as the keys/second/Mhz figure. This worksheet only serves as a rough gauge of job time and cost effectiveness. Price:Performance ratio figures are only relative to this worksheet.

This worksheet does not take into account password filtering (eliminating passwords based on their characteristics.)
